Tottenham player Gareth Bale has said that he wants to speak to Real Madrid, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is adamant the Welsh player will not be sold.

Real Madrid have yet to submit a written offer, while Spurs have said that are determined to keep the 24-year-old, even if they receive a world record bid of £85m. Spurs bought Bale from Southampton for £10m in 2007.

Tottenham are hopeful of persuading Bale to fulfil another year of the three years remaining on his current contract.

Tottenham arrived back in London on Sunday from their final pre-season matches in Hong Kong. Bale did not play in either of the club's matches in the Asia Trophy because of a "muscle problem".

FOOTBALL : Nagoya Grampus 1-3 Arsenal + video highlights link

Arsenal recorded a 3-1 friendly win against Japanese side Nagoya Grampus, on their tour of Asia.

Nagoya Grampus was the last side Arsene Wenger managed, some 17 years ago, and the game was played in a jovial atmosphere in front of a crowd of almost 43,000.

Olivier Giroud opened the scoring in just the 3rd minute with his sixth goal of the tour, before young Japanese winger Ryo Miyaichi scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 before halftime.

Theo Walcott added a third goal before Kisho Yano got one back for Nagoya Grampus late on.

FOOTBALL : FIFA announce ticket prices for 2014 World Cup in Brazil

FIFA have announced the ticket prices for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with prices being lower than previous editions of the World Cup.

Ticket prices for international fans attending the football World Cup in Brazil will start at $90 (£59, €69) for initial group matches.

Tickets will go on sale from 20 August 2013, and the biggest problem for football fans will be getting any sort of allocation, as the tickets will be massively oversubscribed, and applicants will go into a balloting system to "win" the right to purchase tickets.

In total about three million tickets will be available for fans, but demand will be much higher for most matches.

Football's governing body Fifa announced that the cheapest ticket for the final on 13 July will be $440 (£288) and the most expensive $990 (£650).

The TST tickets (team specific tickets to follow one team) are reasonably priced in Category 3, at just USD $297 for three group games, plus $605 for three knockout matches to the semi-finals, and a further $484 to include the final.

That's a total of $1384 - pricey but not outrageous given the demand.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has already strengthened his squad this summer with the signings of midfielder Fernandinho, 28, from Shakhtar Donetsk and winger Jesus Navas, 27, from Sevilla.

FOOTBALL : Indonesia Dream Team 0-7 ARSENAL (Video)

Arsenal began the Asia Tour 2013 with a 7-0 friendly win against the Indonesia Dream Team at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Theo Walcott converted Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's lay-off to give the tourists a half-time lead, Chuba Akpom opened his account for the first team and Olivier Giroud came off the bench to net twice in the space of three minutes.

Lukas Podolski, Kris Olsson and Thomas Eisfeld all scored in the last 10 minutes as Arsenal ran rampant in the second half.

But the result was not the whole story, of course. This was also about some 60,000 Arsenal fans - who made the most of it, bringing banners, streamers, horns and unconditional love of Wenger styled football on a sultry, humid Indonesia evening.

FOOTBALL : THAILAND ALL-STARS 1-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by a Thailand All-Star team in an pre-season friendly in Bangkok on Saturday night.

It match was David Moyes first match in charge of United manager, following the retirement of Alex Ferguson, who had been manager since 1986.

Manchester United were missing many regular first team players including Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, and it showed with United looking disjointed and lacklustre in attack.

Teeratep Winotha scored the only goal of the match in the 49th minute for the All-Stars.

The introduction of four substitutes, including Wilfried Zaha who hit the post, increased United’s options, but the equalising goal did not come, with Danny Welbeck missing two clear chances.

So David Moyes loses his first match in charge of Manchester United, just as Ferguson did way back in 1986 - a 0-2 defeat at Oxford - so perhaps it's not a bad omen?

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-4-1-1):
Amos;
Fabio (Evra 78), Ferdinand, Evans, Buttner (Rafael 34);
Cleverley (Jones 62), Carrick, Anderson (Zaha 62), Giggs (Lingard 62);
Januzaj;
Welbeck.

BASEBALL : Three MLB picks for Monday 8th July

Auls is back on the hunt for a good baseball bet, with 3 MLB previews and betting picks for Monday 8th July 2013.

Firstly, Auls takes a look at the all-Chicago match-up between the Cubs and the White Sox and likes the chances of the Cubbies continuing their good recent form (7-4 in last 11).

Auls also likes the look of the New York Yankees to beat the Kansas City Royals, and picks them to bounce back from disappointment last time out.

Finally, we take a look at the Oakland A's trip to Pittsburgh, and with two strong pitchers on the mound that this game looks like going way under the 7.5 run line total.

What do you think? What is your best baseball bet tonight?
