NFL : Wes Welker moves to Broncos in $12m deal

The Denver Broncos have made a major free agency move, agreeing to terms with Pats wide receiver Wes Welker on a two-year contract.

The Patriots responded quickly to Welker's loss by agreeing in principle on a five-year, $31 million deal, including $10 million guaranteed, with St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola, a league source told Schefter.

Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway tweeted the club's agreement with the former New England Patriot - "Excited to have Wes join the Broncos. His production & toughness will be a great asset!" Elway wrote.

Welker joins a Denver offense that already featured two 1,000-yard receivers last season in Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.

BETTING : Punter turns 15p into almost £90,000 with football bet

A Swindon man should be celebrating when he won almost £90,000 for just a 15p bet at his local Coral betting shop.

The customer, a regular at the Coral shop at Moredon Road, Swindon, placed the 14 match accumulator bet on Saturday morning on that afternoon’s football, and has won £89,919.39.

“This customer places three similar bets each week, never staking more than 50p in total, but he may not know he has won this massive prize yet as he always comes back to the shop for staff to check, so when he next comes in he is in for a fantastic surprise,” said Coral spokesman, David Stevens.

“It was an amazing piece of tipping to get all 14 outcomes correct, at odds of almost 600,000-1, and it just goes to show that you don’t have to bet big money to win big money,” added Stevens.

15p 14-fold bet went on the following games:
Bristol City to beat Middlesbrough
Charlton to beat Huddersfield
Doncaster to beat Bournemouth
Coventry to beat Scunthorpe
AFC Wimbledon to beat York City
