Australian #9 seed Samantha Stosur produced some stunning tennis to deservedly beat Serena Williams and claim her first US Open womens tennis title - and Australia's first since Margaret Court in 1973.
It was Stosur's first major win of her career - and it was a win built on reliability as Stosur committed only 12 unforced errors during the match - compared to 25 from Williams.
While Stosur was composed and clam, Serena Williams was pouting, posturing and arguing with officials as she once again showed a complete lack of class when not actually winning - in scenes reminiscent of the 2009 semifinal against Kim Clijsters when Williams threatened a linesperson after a foot fault call.
