Crystal Palace pulled off a stunning 2-1 extra-time victory at Old Trafford to reach the Carling Cup semi-finals and send Manchester United crashing out.
The south Londoners made a mockery of their dismal recent league form - they had not scored in their previous five games - by tearing into a much changed Manchester United from the first whistle.
Darren Ambrose thundered a 35-yard drive into the top corner to give Crystal Paalace a 65th minute lead, but a penalty by Federico Macheda leveled things for Manchester United.
Glenn Murray headed in from a free-kick to put Palace ahead and in extra time and they weathered a late storm to reach the last four.
