NBA Playoffs - Expect the unexpected

Everyone knows how the NBA playoffs work - teams are seeded #1 through #8 in each conference and generally the first playoff round is a graveyard for the underdogs ... right?
Not in 2011 - not in the Western Conference!

In the West, the upstart #8 seeded Memphis Grizzlies routed the #1 San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of their series, winning by 18 points to take a 3-1 series lead. If The Grizzlies can complete the job then they'll be only the second #8 team ever to eliminate the top seeds.

Elsewhere, the #7 seeded New Orleans Hornets are tied 2-2 in their series with the #2 Los Angeles Lakers - and last years MVP Kobe Bryant is nursing a foot injury. Uh-oh.

Over in the East, the #1 team is the Chicago Bulls and the Bulls are leading 3-1, while #2 Miami lead 3-1, and #3 seed the Boston Celtics swept the New York Knicks 4-0. So the East is going to plan.

It seems that this year - it's worth watching EVERY playoff series!
